Three-Way Pocky A-Way Big Chief Monk Boudreaux
by Richard Thomas

How does one capture - in mere ink and paper - a regal Mardi Gras Indian chief, resplendent in a suit of fine plumage, prismatic beads and exquisite handiwork that turns culture into couture? How does one freeze the driving rhythms that animate Mardi Gras Indians, the font of back-beat, second line New Orleans? Start with an icon; in this case Chief Joseph Pierre "Monk" Boudreaux of the Golden Eagles Tribe. Boudreaux, 64 when this poster was released, occupies the big chief's position of stature and cultural responsibility and has woven his chants into music performed around the world.

To create a visual icon representing a culture so unique we called upon Richard Thomas whose energetic fusion, based upon on a photo by Michael P. Smith, New Orleans' premier documentary photographer, succeeds wildly in conveying the dignity, stature and intensity of a Big Chief at the peak of his powers. Thomas manages to both show the man and his art; the all-encompassing costume that sometimes obscures the Indian wearing it. This triptych (three-panel piece) is timeless. Collaborating with Smith, Thomas has birthed a vision that rocks like the Indians on Mardi Gras day. In addition to the numbered and the artist-signed editions, a special edition triple signed by Thomas, Smith & Boudreaux was published. A piece of art that's a piece of history. Three-way Pocky A-Way!

They make your cards look super professional.

I am moving into my new house soon and over the last month I have purchased 5 of these. They make your cards look super professional. I think I have all that I need but if I ever another one, i would buy this one or I would say that I highly recommend this one, and this is coming from the guy who usually never leaves a review for anything but these are awesome.

Lots of defects in construction
Size: 40 Cards Display Case Standard
I bought two of these, and at the time of writing this review, currently I've only loaded one with graded cards. First thing, the appearance looks decent, though some minor cosmetic issues here and there on the wood. After I got the display mounted on the wall, I started putting in the graded cards I wanted to display, and at first everything was going well; until I got to the 4 row. I noticed the first card I placed was wobbly, and would lean to the right. I looked at the card case, and figured it must be the case itself, until I put in the 3rd & 4th cards, and they to were wobbly, I ran my finger where the card sit and noticed either chipped wood, or excess glue, which prevent the cards from sitting flush against the rail. I continued to insert more cards, and one the bottom row, I noticed right away that there was a spacing issue between the 4th and 5th rows, and that the board between the two rows is bowed downward. I put a level on it and verified... which absolutely is is bowed. NOT COOL! Let's see how the return process goes now...

Buy if you collect cards and want to display
Size: 40 Cards Display Case Standard
Arrived as pictured. Very nice display case for baseball cards or whichever types of cards collected. Gifted to husband who collects baseball cards. Hold quite a bit of cards. Mounted on wall just fine. Glass is clear and we put a light strip on the inside, which added to it. Bought two of these.
