A cocktail book published during Prohibition with hors d'oeuvres and mixed drink recipes, mostly dreadful, yet such was the state of entertaining "for the American People in the twelfth year of Volstead, 1930." The Volstead Act prohibited offering instructions on how to make alcohol (it was also a crime to tell someone where alcohol could be found) and the few publishers willing to skirt the law and issue cocktail books often tried to pretend the books weren't actually cocktail books. In this case, Elliott and Stong call for non-alcoholic gin and Scotch in their drinks. Under the heading Household Hints (page 68), they supply a recipe for bathtub gin, or how to flavor pure alcohol to taste something like gin (censored in later printings). Real spirits were hard to come by and so most of the recipes are designed to hide the poor quality booze with juice and other mixers. As a cocktail book - that is, a book with recipes one might actually want to drink - Shake 'em Up is a disaster. But it is arguably the most honest account of typical American drinking habits during the later years of Prohibition. The Savoy Cocktail Book from the American Bar in London came out later the same year. In a widely circulated review of the Savoy, Gerald McClean joked about the lack of American liquor options: "The home wrecker calls for gin, vermouth, Kummel, Charbreaux, and pineapple syrup. Now, we ask you, where in this land of the free is one going to find pineapple syrup?" Shake 'em Up is one of few cocktail books of the time written by a woman. It is also the first book by Phil Stong, who is best remembered for his novel State Fair (1932) and its four film adaptations, including the Rodgers and Hammerstein movie musical.

so I felt like it was time to invest in a wrist pad
Color: Black, Size: Full Size
Im an Editor and spend most of my days typing in front of a computer. I've never really used a wrist pad before, but my wrists were laying on the edge of my desk, which after a while, began to hurt my wrists, so I felt like it was time to invest in a wrist pad. I looked at plenty of them here on Amazon and this one from Glorious had some great reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. Even though I'm not a "gammer," this rest is beyond awesome! It's perfect for typing all day, and even though some reviews noted that it was too "high" - it's really not and works great on a keyboard with a kickstand under it, or even when I'm not using my wireless keyboard, it still works great typing on my MacBook Air (2015 Edition). It has a sticky underside that keeps it in place, but it's also not too sticky, so you can move it around with ease. I will admit, it is a little firm, so if you're looking for a wrist pad that's "gel-like" for your wrists to sink into - this is not for you. It's firm and holds your wrists up above the keyboard so that you're typing downward, rather than having your wrist slanted up at a 45 degree angle, which is terrible for you. I've only had the wrist pad for 2 days, but I can't tell you how much pain it's relieved from my wrists sitting on the edge of my desk. The full length one fits perfectly with my keyboard with the numbers extended on the right side, and should I decide to only use my laptop's keyboard, the pad works great for that as well. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a solid, firm pad to rest your wrists on while typing.

My wrists feel like they are way too high to type comfortably
For the Price and function of this product to me it gets 3 stars. To problem is however for me, the height of the pad is a bit ridiculous. My wrists feel like they are way too high to type comfortably. I am using an HHKB pro2 and using this wrist rest, my wrists are suspended extremely high up compared to my keyboard. It just does not feel right. But at the very least this wristrest prevents me from digging my wrist into the edge of my desk which is all I wanted it to do really in the first place. But with my wrists this high up, it just seems extremely awkward to type normally. Maybe hopefully the wristrest will flatten over time. It has to be mentioned as well that my unit is not perfectly flat. If I put pressure on either the right or left side of the wrist rest, the opposite side of which I pressed will result in being raised upwards. This is not a huge problem, I am just nitpicking here. Lastly, the gaudy branding is a turn off for me. This is extremely subjective but if it came just purely with no logo or a much smaller one I would have been happier. I dont really need everyone who walks by my computer setup to read "Glorious PC gaming race." I just do not fit that age demographic anymore. If this wrist rest was a few CM lower in height, and the branding was gone. I wouldve easily gave it 6/5 stars. The build quality seems very good and sturdy.

Beautiful and comfortable wrist rest
Color: Walnut Wood, Size: Large
This walnut wrist rest is fantastic. It’s a solid, well-crafted piece of wood with a great natural feel. The edges are nicely filed and smooth to the touch, and the wood grain looks beautiful in person. You can really feel the texture of the wood when typing, but it’s never rough or uncomfortable—just a nice tactile reminder of the quality material. The color and finish are great, not glossy or sticky, and it stays cool and comfortable even during long sessions. It fits perfectly with my full-size keyboard and adds both comfort and a great aesthetic to my desk setup. If you’re looking for a wrist rest that’s both functional and classy, this is absolutely worth the price. Highly recommend.

Real walnut wood. High quality.
Color: Walnut Wood, Size: Large, Color: Walnut Wood, Size: Large
This is authentic walnut wood. I was apprehensive at first. My fear was that it was pine stained to the color of walnut. I thought the wood stain would come off on my wrists and wear over time. Turns out this is a genuine chunk of walnut! Worth the $20. I laser engraved my logo onto it and it revealed that it’s 100% walnut to the core. Elegant solution. Perfectly comfortable. Way less corny than those squishy wrist rests from the 2000’s. Nice rubber gaskets on the bottom to keep it from slipping. Does not move while in typing. The exact right size for supporting your wrist on a full size Keychron keyboard. I’m using it with a P6 Ultra. But it would fit any full size Keychron keyboard.

Surprisingly comfortable and stylish wrist rest!
Color: Walnut Wood, Size: Large
This wrist rest is the perfect compliment to my desk set up. I was hesitant about buying a wood product like this, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised how comfortable and smooth it is during extended use. For the price, it feels like a premium product, and I love that it stays put with the rubber feet. The size is perfect for a full-size keyboard, with just the right thickness to keep your wrist and palms comfortable. If you’re looking for an elevated way to decorate your desk while protecting your wrist, this is a great choice.
